Don't laugh - is a video card a game card?
« on: December 19, 2002, 06:51:55 PM »
I have a WinFast(R) Titanium Display driver.  Is this my game card?  Is it good enough for AH?  i seem to be getting jerky frames sometimes at about a rate of one per second, off and online (sound does the same too)

Running XP, 256K DDR RAM, Athlon 1.4 which runs at 1.6.

Thanks

Which Winfast titanium?  It's a Geforce4 based chip, right?  If so, yeah, it should be plenty fast.  There are parts of AH where the performance bottleneck isn't graphics.  I have a Geforce4 TI4600, but I still get jerky framerates occasionally in really really thick smoke, for example.

That's your video card.  A game card is a card with two 15-pin game ports...most computers just have a sound card with a single game port built into it.

Although it's not nearly the quickest, that card should at least be adequate.  What resolution are you running?
